NEWS & EVENTS
Fall Thoughts:
Here we are at the door to winter one more time. The woods are ablaze in bright colors, the nights are cool but the days still have a touch of summer warmth to them. The last of the garden harvest is in, cider pressed and stored, gardens put to bed, firewood at hand. We've had a good year and though we miss warm summer days we're thankful for a year of bounty. ScytheSupply continues unabated towards its 8th year. We thank our customers for their strong and continued support.
This year began a new adventure when in response to many requests about raising and harvesting grain we enthusiastically planted two acres of spring wheat. Having no experience raising grains we decided that to help others we needed to gain some hands-on knowledge. This experiment has been a success and we plan to add a page to our website describing our experience growing, harvesting and developing a light, detachable grain cradle for the scythe.
We end these reflections with a link to "Ode to Autumn" by John Keats which sums up for us the essence of Fall. Written nearly 200 years ago it proves that some things remain the same.
